Joe Biden's visit to Moldova - details, statements, speeches

The US Vice-President, Joseph Biden has come to Moldova today. He is on a six hours visit to Moldova. Biden has met with the Moldovan Prime-Minister, Vlad Filat. On his first speech in front of the press, Joe Biden said he is honored to be the first Vice-President to visit Moldova since its independence from the USSR.

“I am here today because the President wants to make clear that the United States and Moldova are partners on a range of issues,” Joe Biden said at the press briefing. He continued: “President Obama and I believe that Moldova has a significant opportunity; it has already provided a good model for how to peacefully make a transition to democracy.”
